EduCost Intel

Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: 29 August 2026

EduCost Intel ("we", "us") provides a free tool for comparing Ukrainian university and college tuition fees, admission dates, and program details, on the web at educost-intel.com and via our Android and iOS apps. This page explains what data we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can have it deleted.

Short version: the app works fully without an account. Signing in is optional and only unlocks syncing your saved programs/searches across devices. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't share your data with data brokers or advertisers.

What we collect, and why

DataWhenWhy
Email address, display name Only if you create an account (email/password or Google Sign-In) Identify your account; sync your saved programs and searches across devices; let you recover your account
Profile photo (optional) Only if you upload one from your account/cabinet screen Shown in your own profile only
Saved programs, saved searches, follows (price-change alerts), and your comparison history Whenever you tap "save"/"follow" on a program or institution, or compare two or more programs while signed in Show your shortlist and let you revisit past comparisons; notify you when a followed program's price or admission data changes. Synced to your account so they follow you across devices
NMT (entrance exam) scores you enter Only if you use the NMT calculator and choose to enter scores Estimate which programs you're competitive for, based on last year's admission data. Stored on your device (and synced to your account if signed in) — never sent to any third party, never used for anything else
Bug report text, and an optional screenshot you attach Only if you submit the in-app "Report a bug" form Diagnose and fix the issue you reported
Crash reports (device model, OS version, a stack trace of what code was running when the app crashed) Automatically, only if the app actually crashes Find and fix the bug that caused the crash
Anonymous usage analytics (which screens are opened, how often — no personal identifiers, no cross-app or cross-site tracking) Automatically, in the background Understand which features are actually used, to prioritize what to build/fix next

We never collect: your location, your contacts, your device's advertising ID, payment/financial information (the app is free, we don't sell anything), or any data unrelated to the features above.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with data brokers, advertisers, or any other third party beyond the two services above, which exist to make the app function (sign-in, crash fixing) — not to monetize your data.

Tuition fee and admission data

The tuition fees, admission dates, and program details shown in the app are collected from institutions' own public websites and Ukraine's EDBO admission registry. This is public institutional data, not personal data about you.

Data retention and deletion

If you don't create an account, your saved programs/searches/NMT scores live only on your own device (nothing is sent to us at all, and no comparison history is recorded), and you can clear them anytime from the app's own settings, or by uninstalling the app.

If you do create an account, your account data (email, saved items, follows, NMT scores) is kept until you delete your account. To delete your account and all associated data, email [email protected] from the address on your account — we'll confirm deletion within 14 days.

Children's privacy

EduCost Intel is intended for prospective university/college applicants and their families, generally aged 15 and up. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at the email below and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to what we collect or how we use it, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
