EduCost Intel ("we", "us") is a free tool for comparing tuition fees, admission dates and programme details at Ukrainian universities, colleges and schools. It is available on the web at educost-intel.com and as an Android app (com.educost.intel). This page explains what data we collect, why, where it is stored, who else handles it, and how to have it deleted. It applies to users in every country.
Short version: the app works fully without an account. Signing in is optional and only adds syncing your saved programmes, searches and comparisons across your own devices. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. Your account data is stored on our server in Ukraine.

We never collect your location, contacts, advertising ID, or card or bank details. The app and the website are free and nothing is sold in them.
Our database and application server are located in Ukraine. If you use EduCost Intel from another country, your data is transferred to and stored in Ukraine.
For users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland: Ukraine does not currently have an "adequacy decision" from the European Commission, which means EU law does not treat it as providing a level of data protection equivalent to the EU's. We transfer your account data to Ukraine because doing so is necessary to provide the account and sync service you ask for when you sign up; if you don't create an account, nothing identifying you is stored there. If you'd rather not have your data held in Ukraine, you can use EduCost Intel without an account, or delete your account at any time.

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone beyond these services, which exist to make EduCost Intel work — not to make money from your data.
You can support the project voluntarily at educost-intel.com/donate. Donations are made on Monobank's own payment page: we never see or store your card details. Monobank may show us the amount and any name or comment you choose to leave; we use that only to know the project was supported, and we don't link it to your EduCost Intel account. A donation doesn't unlock anything — every feature is the same for everyone.
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or export it in a machine-readable format, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Email [email protected] from the address on your account and we'll respond within 30 days. You can delete your account yourself at any time (see below).
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority — in the EU, the authority of the country where you live; in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
The fees, dates and programme details shown in EduCost Intel come from institutions' own public websites and Ukraine's official admission registries. This is public information about institutions, not personal data about you.
Without an account, your saved programmes, searches and NMT scores live only on your own device — nothing about them is sent to us, and no comparison or activity history is recorded. Clear them in the app's settings, clear the site data in your browser, or uninstall the app.
With an account, your account data is kept until you delete your account. You can delete it yourself immediately — in the Android app (More → your name → My Cabinet → Delete account) or on the website (My Cabinet → Delete account, which also works for Google Sign-In accounts) — or ask us by email if you can no longer sign in. Full instructions are at educost-intel.com/delete-account. Email requests are completed within 30 days, usually much sooner.
After deletion, copies may remain in our backups for up to 45 days before they are overwritten. Crash reports are kept by Firebase for 90 days. Bug reports are kept for as long as we need them to fix the problem; ask us if you want one deleted sooner.
EduCost Intel is intended for prospective students and their families, generally aged 15 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
If we make a material change to what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
